Meeting Minutes - July 12, 2001
Pauquette Park, Main Street, Poynette

The minutes from last month's meeting were accepted.

Treasurer's Report: Checking Balance of $1,242.72.

Non-Profit Status - Nancy said we are close to submitting our application for approval. It should be done within the next month or so.

Publicity - Newsletter is in the works. Send any articles or
information to Dave Egan. Brochure is complete and ready for mailing

Fundraising - We still have not heard the status of the watershed grant we submitted through Columbia County. We have, however, received a grant from the Lake Wisconsin Lions club of $400. The grant needs to be
used to control the Purple Loosestrife plants in the area. Dave Egan will coordinate the work party which will probably be next weekend the 21st. We will need to get landowner permission if we will be crossing private land to get at the plants.

Activities - Prairie planting: The prairie planting went fine. We planted the area across from the doctor's office. Have asked the Sampsons to water it if need be. We may need to do weeding at some point.

Rain Garden: The rain garden was planted with some plants. The event was not very well attended.

Fish Survey Demonstration: Tom Flesch is handling this.

Committee Descriptions
- Each committee chairperson was asked to write up a short description of their committees. They will be added to the web site and kept with our other information.

River Planning Grant - Nancy is mapping out Wild Parsnip plants in the area and would like help in getting rid of the plants. She thinks 2 or 3 evenings would be all that is needed. Also, anyone interested in planning a watershed bike route map and information guide would be most
appreciated.

DNR Information - There has been maintenance along the trail. Erosion control water bars have been installed and downed trees across trails have been removed.

Action Items:
Allison Russell - write a thank-you to the Lake WI Lions; Get committee descriptions to Theresa Plenty to add to the Web site

Dave Egan - coordinate the Purple Loosestrife plant control project

Tom Flesch - coordinate the fish survey demonstration

Theresa Plenty - Add committee descriptions to the web site
